Florida online high school diploma for adults

A Florida registered online high school, with the reference number you need to check that claim yourself.

What registration means

What does a Florida registered private school mean?

Florida requires private schools operating in the state to register annually with the Department of Education. A registered school appears in the state's records and is issued a school code — ours is 5524.

Registration confirms that the school has met the state's requirements for operating. It is a compliance status.

What it is not: it is not an academic quality review, it is not accreditation, and it is not an endorsement of the diploma by any employer or college. Anyone presenting a state registration as though it were accreditation is misrepresenting it — including, historically, plenty of school websites.

To check it: open the FDOE private schools page, follow their Directory of Private Schools, and search for school code 5524. Full detail on the registration page.

Adult education across Florida — Miami to Jacksonville

Because the coursework is online, there is no campus to travel to and no catchment area. Someone in Hialeah and someone in Pensacola do the same program on the same terms.

Miami

People searching for adult education Miami high school diploma options are usually weighing a district adult-education center against an online route. Both are real options and they suit different lives. An in-person center typically offers a room, a set schedule and other people around you; an online program offers your own hours instead. Which is better depends entirely on which of those you need. If shift work or childcare is what stopped you before, the timetable is usually the deciding factor rather than the teaching.

Orlando

An adult high school diploma Orlando residents complete through ARHS is done online, so hospitality and service-sector schedules — the ones that make an evening class impossible — do not conflict with it. There is nothing to attend.

Tampa

Same for an adult high school diploma Tampa students earn: no campus, no fixed hours, and previously earned Florida credits reviewed against our 24-credit requirement like any others.

Jacksonville

And for an adult high school diploma Jacksonville residents complete, the same again. We have no city-specific program, no local office and no regional pricing — claiming otherwise would be inventing a distinction that does not exist.

What is genuinely local: your old records. Florida districts hold transcripts long after individual schools close, so a Florida school you attended decades ago is usually traceable through its district. How to find them.

Online high school Florida adults use here follows the same route described across this site, and none of it is Florida-specific except the records step:

  1. Answer five questions so an advisor can see roughly where you are.
  2. Send whatever records you have. For Florida schools, the district is usually the fastest route.
  3. Credit review against the 24-credit requirement — published at 2 to 5 business days.
  4. A written plan: what transferred, what is left, what it costs.
  5. Complete the remaining credits at your own pace.

Common questions

Florida questions

Is ARHS a Florida registered online high school?

Yes. ARHS is registered with the Florida Department of Education as a private school, School Code 5524, and appears in the state's records of registered private schools.

Registration is not accreditation. It records compliance with Florida's requirements for operating; it is not an academic quality judgement, and this site publishes no accreditation claim. The difference, and how to look us up.

What are the high school diploma requirements in Florida for adults?

At ARHS, graduation requires 24 credits: four each in English, mathematics, science and social studies, plus eight electives.

Worth understanding: Florida sets requirements for public school students by statute, and a registered private school sets its own. They are not the same rules, and a comparison between them is not something we can make on the state's behalf. What graduating here involves.

Do I have to live in Florida to enroll?

No. The coursework is delivered entirely online, so where you live does not affect access.

Two things to check separately, because neither is ours to answer: whether your own state has requirements that affect you, and what the employer, college or agency you need the diploma for accepts. Who actually decides acceptance.
