The whole process, start to finish
How this actually works
Eight stages. What you do, what we do, and the two points where an honest school has to say "we do not know yet".
-
Answer five questions
You: Tell us roughly where you got to in school, and whether you still have any records. It takes about a minute and asks for no payment details.
ARHS: We read it and reply by email with the next step that actually fits your situation — not a template.
-
Apply
You: Complete the application. No essay, no entrance exam, no application fee. If you are under 18 a parent or guardian completes part of it with you.
ARHS: We open your student record so there is somewhere for your transcripts to land.
-
Send whatever records you have
You: Official transcripts if you have them, unofficial if that is all you can get, and nothing at all if your school closed or you cannot track them down. Say so and we work from there.
ARHS: We tell you what is usable, and help you request what is missing.
-
Academic review
You: Nothing. This one is on us.
ARHS: The academic team compares your records against the 24-credit graduation requirement and decides which credits carry across.
The school publishes an evaluation window of 2 to 5 business days for this stage. Confirm it is current when you send your records.
-
You get it in writing
You: Read it, and ask about anything that does not make sense before you pay anything.
ARHS: We put in writing which credits transferred, what is left to complete, and what it costs. Until this point any number either side quotes is an estimate.
-
Enroll
You: Decide. If the plan works for you, complete enrollment and choose how you want to pay.
ARHS: We set up your course access and confirm your starting point.
-
Do the coursework
You: Work through your remaining courses at whatever pace your life allows. There are no fixed class times and no deadlines to miss.
ARHS: Support when you are stuck, and a record of what you have completed.
-
Graduate, then request your transcript
You: Finish your remaining credits, then request your diploma and transcript when you need them for a job or an application.
ARHS: We issue the diploma and send transcripts where you ask us to.
What the studying is actually like
How does online high school work day to day?
This is a self paced online high school for adults, which is a phrase used loosely enough to be worth pinning down.
Do online high schools have live classes?
Not this one. Nothing is streamed at a fixed hour, there is no lecture to attend and no seminar you can be late for. People ask whether online high schools have live classes because a timetable would make the whole thing impossible around a job — here there is no timetable to clash with.
This is an online high school no fixed class times arrangement, and no deadlines either. It works the way a library does rather than the way a school does: the material is there, and you use it when you can.
So there is no single online high school daily schedule adults all follow. Some people do ninety minutes before a shift. Some do one long session at the weekend — weekend study high school diploma progress is entirely workable, because nothing expires between sessions. What decides the outcome is consistency, not the pattern.
What is online high school like for adults? Quieter than people expect, and more solitary. Nobody is watching you fall behind, which is freeing and is also the risk.
What you finish with
What do you get when you finish online high school?
A 24-credit high school diploma — 24 credits is the requirement ARHS sets, as a registered private school is entitled to do — and a transcript recording the courses behind it.
The transcript matters more than people expect. A high school diploma with transcript attached is what an employer or admissions office can actually check, because the diploma states the outcome and the transcript shows the work. An official high school transcript online program records are requested the same way as from any other school, and sent where you ask us to send it.
What happens at that stage is on graduation and transcripts.
Where it can stall
The two honest gaps.
Stage 3 — records. This is where most people stop, usually because they believe missing paperwork disqualifies them. It does not. Seven situations and what to do in each covers the common ones, including having nothing at all.
Records take longer than people expect. How to get old high school transcripts covers who holds them and what to ask for, including closed schools.
Stage 4 — the review. Until this finishes, nobody can tell you your credit total, your cost or your finish date. Any figure quoted before it — by us or by anyone else — is an estimate. That is why the written plan at stage 5 is the point where the decision actually becomes yours to make.
