Academic integrity policy
The rules that make the diploma worth holding — including a clear position on AI.

1. What is expected
- Submit your own original work
- Complete assessments without unauthorized assistance
- Cite outside sources where you use them
- Ask for clarification when you are unsure what an assignment permits
- Be honest in all academic activity
2. What counts as a violation
- Plagiarism, or using material without proper credit
- Submitting coursework completed by someone else
- Using unauthorized resources during quizzes or assessments
- Sharing test answers or assignments with other students
- Altering grades or tampering with school records
3. Using AI tools
We would rather give you a usable rule than a vague warning.
3.1 Permitted
- Explaining a concept you are stuck on
- Study support and tutoring-style help
- Brainstorming before you write
- Clarifying what an assignment is asking for
- Generating extra practice problems or reviewing content
3.2 Not permitted
- Having a tool write an assignment you then submit
- Using a tool during a quiz or assessment
- Submitting output you do not understand and could not explain
3.3 If a submission raises questions
You may be asked to explain the work in your own words, redo the assignment, or complete an alternative assessment. That is a conversation, not an accusation — an adult who can explain their reasoning has demonstrated exactly what the assignment was testing.
3.4 The principle
Use AI as a learning aid, not a shortcut. A tool that helps you understand quadratic equations is doing what a good tutor does. A tool that answers the quiz for you has left you with a diploma and no algebra.
4. Consequences
Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before:
- Redoing the assignment
- A reduced or failing grade for the work
- An academic warning
- Course invalidation
- Suspension or dismissal in serious cases
5. If you are not sure
Ask before you submit, not after. Nobody has ever been penalized here for asking whether something was allowed.
