Graduation and transcripts

What finishing looks like, and how to get hold of your records afterward.

Graduation requirements

You graduate by completing 24 credits: four each in English, mathematics, science and social studies, plus eight electives. There is no exit exam and no minimum time enrolled.

Credits required in each subject area
Subject area Credits
English / Language Arts 4
Mathematics 4
Science 4
Social Studies 4
Electives 8

Your personalized graduation plan

Your plan is your copy of the requirement with your own history applied to it. It lists the credits accepted from previous schools, the courses still outstanding, and a sensible order to take them in. When a course is completed the plan updates, so you always know how much is left.

Finishing on your own schedule

There are no deadlines. Move as quickly or as gradually as you need. Many adult learners speed up and slow down repeatedly over a program depending on what else is happening, and nothing about that counts against you.

We will not tell you it takes a specific number of weeks. That number depends on how many credits you need and how much time you have, and any school quoting you one before seeing your transcript is guessing.

Requesting a transcript

Once you have graduated you can request your transcript at any time — there is no window that closes. Transcripts are available electronically or as a mailed physical copy.

To request one, email the school with your full name, your dates of enrollment, and where the transcript should go. If it is going to an employer or an institution, include their address or their electronic delivery details.

What comes after

Graduates use the diploma to apply for jobs, college programs, training courses and apprenticeships. Whether any particular organization accepts it is their decision — see the registration and claims page for exactly what we are registered as, and for our position on accreditation, in a form you can send them.
