About ARHS

A school built around one idea: that leaving high school early should not be a permanent condition.

Why the school exists

American Royal High School was founded to provide a supportive, accessible alternative for people who need a flexible route to finish their high school education. In practice that means adults — the large majority of our students left school for reasons that had nothing to do with whether they could do the work.

A traditional school is built around a seventeen-year-old with no job and no dependents. Almost nothing about that model fits a thirty-four-year-old working nights. We built the program the other way round: no fixed class times, no campus, no semester you have to wait for.

Who we serve

Students come to ARHS from a wide range of starting points, and the reasons cluster into a few:

  • Adults returning after a long gap, sometimes decades
  • People who need a diploma for a specific job, promotion or application
  • People with credits already earned who do not want to repeat work
  • Parents finishing their own education alongside their children's
  • Learners between 16 and 17 for whom a traditional school is not working

Our approach

Self-paced, online, and structured around steady progress rather than pressure. Coursework is designed to be picked up and put down. Support is available when a subject stops making sense. And the credit review happens early, because knowing exactly what is left is the single thing that most changes whether someone finishes.

Why this works for adults

Because it removes the three things that usually stop people: a schedule they cannot meet, work they have already done being ignored, and no one to ask when they get stuck. Take those away and what is left is a manageable amount of coursework and enough time to do it.

Registration

ARHS is registered with the Florida Department of Education under School Code 5524. Registration means the school follows the requirements Florida sets for private schools operating in the state.

We keep the full picture — the registration, the partners, and what this school does and does not claim about accreditation — on one page, because a logo on a homepage tells you nothing on its own.

You do not have to live in Florida to enroll. The coursework is online and the registration is about where the school operates, not about where you are.
