Frequently asked questions

35 questions, grouped by what you are probably trying to work out. Where the honest answer is "it depends", that is what it says.

Enrollment and eligibility

Who can enroll at ARHS?

Anyone 16 or older. Most of our students are adults coming back to finish something they started years ago. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian completes part of the application with you.

Are there enrollment deadlines?

No. Enrollment is open all year. There is no fall or spring intake to wait for and no waiting list.

Do I need a certain GPA or test scores to enroll?

No placement tests, no minimum GPA, no standardized test scores. Your previous grades matter only in that they may earn you transfer credit.

Does ARHS accept students who previously withdrew from school?

Yes — this describes a large share of our students. Adult learners are placed based on credit history, not on age or on how long the gap has been. Why you left does not affect your eligibility.

Can international students enroll?

Yes. The coursework is fully online and accessible from anywhere. Be aware that how a U.S. high school diploma is treated varies considerably between countries — if you need it recognized somewhere specific, check with that authority before you enroll rather than after.

Age and location

Online high school age requirements: what is the minimum age?

The minimum age online high school enrollment requires here is 16, and there is no upper age limit at all.

If you are under 18, a parent or guardian completes part of the application with you. That is the only way age changes the process.

Can a 17 year old dropout enroll online high school courses?

Yes. Enrollment opens at 16, so a 17-year-old is eligible, and having left school without finishing is the ordinary situation here rather than an obstacle.

Because 17 is under 18, a parent or guardian completes part of the application alongside you.

Can I attend Florida online school from another state?

Yes. The coursework is delivered entirely online, so where you sit while doing it does not affect access.

Two things worth checking separately, because they are not ours to answer: whether your own state has requirements that affect you, and what the employer, college or agency you need the diploma for will accept. Who decides acceptance covers the second.

Accreditation and recognition

Is ARHS accredited?

ARHS is registered with the Florida Department of Education under School Code 5524. You can check that yourself at fldoe.org.

Registration is not accreditation, and this site makes no accreditation claim, because no documentation has been produced that a reader could verify. What that means in practice — and what to ask us for before enrolling — is on the registration page.

Will employers accept my diploma?

That is the employer's decision, not ours, and no school can honestly promise otherwise. Graduates do use the ARHS diploma when applying for work, and most employers ask only for proof of graduation.

If there is a specific employer behind your question, the reliable move is to ask them directly what they require, and to ask us in writing for whatever documentation they name. One conversation settles it properly, before you have spent anything.

Can I go to college with this diploma?

Admissions offices set their own rules, and two colleges in the same state can reach different answers. Many require a diploma from an accredited school, and some name which accreditors they accept.

This matters for you specifically: ARHS publishes no accreditation claim. Ask the admissions office of the college you have in mind what they require, then ask us in writing whether we can supply it — before you enroll, not after. If the answer is no, you have saved yourself a year and the tuition.

Will the military accept this diploma?

Each branch has its own education criteria, they are applied strictly, and they change. We are not going to tell you yes.

Speak to a recruiter for the branch you are interested in before you enroll, and ask what they require in writing. Military education tiers frequently turn on accreditation, and ARHS publishes no accreditation claim — so this is a question to settle first, not later.

Program format

Is everything online?

Yes, entirely. There is no campus to attend and nothing to post.

Are there live classes or scheduled times?

No. Nothing happens at a fixed time. There are no live sessions to attend and no group work that depends on other students being online when you are.

How long does it take to finish?

It depends on two things: how many of the 24 credits you still need, and how much time you can give it each week.

We do not publish a "finish in X weeks" figure because it would be a guess. Once your credit review is done you will have a real number based on your actual remaining courses.

How do I track my progress?

Your dashboard shows completed lessons, grades and overall progress against your graduation plan. It is the first thing you see when you log in.

Can I take a break if life gets busy?

Yes. Pause and pick it up again — nothing expires while you are away. Extended inactivity can trigger an academic check-in, so a quick message to your advisor saves confusion on both sides.

Technology and support

Do I need a computer?

Helpful, not required. The platform works on a tablet or a phone. A computer makes longer written assignments easier, but it is not a barrier to enrolling.

Is tech support available?

Yes — logins, navigation, course access, pages that will not load. If the platform is the problem, that is ours to fix, not yours.

What if I need help with a class?

Academic support is available for the coursework itself. Ask early rather than late — the students who reach out in week two do better than the ones who go quiet in week six.

Can I use AI tools to help me study?

Yes, for studying: explaining a concept, generating practice problems, clarifying what an assignment is asking, brainstorming before you write.

Not for producing the work itself. Assignments and assessments have to reflect your own understanding. The academic integrity policy sets out where the line sits and what happens if a submission raises questions.

Credit transfer

Can I transfer credits from previous schools?

Yes. Send whatever records you have and the academic team compares them against our graduation requirements. Accepted credits come off your course list and take $30 each off your tuition. How it works.

What if I cannot find my transcripts?

We help you find them — identifying and contacting the school, requesting copies, and working out what happened if it closed, merged or changed its name. Records survive closures more often than people expect. You can enroll and start studying before they arrive.

How long does credit evaluation take?

Most are completed within 2 to 5 business days of us receiving your records. Longer if several schools have to be contacted — we will tell you if that is the case.

What if I have no credits to transfer?

Completely fine, and common. You complete all 24 credits and pay the published maximum of $994. It does not affect your eligibility in any way.

Graduation and beyond

What happens when I finish all my courses?

You receive your diploma, and you can request transcripts at any point afterward — electronic or mailed. See graduation and transcripts. One condition: nothing is issued until all financial obligations are met.

Can I apply to college immediately after graduating?

You can apply straight away. Whether a particular college accepts it is that college's decision — confirm with their admissions office first, ideally before you enroll here rather than after you graduate.

Will employers ask for anything besides my diploma?

Most ask only for proof of graduation. Some want a transcript as well, which you can request at any time.

Tuition and payments

How much does the program cost?

The most you will pay is $994, covering every course you need, all digital materials, student support and platform access. Each accepted transfer credit takes $30 off it. Full breakdown.

Do you offer payment plans?

Three options, all totalling $994: pay in full; a $100 deposit plus 3 payments of $298; or a $100 deposit plus 6 payments of $149. You start coursework as soon as the deposit is paid.

Are there hidden fees?

Rather than just saying no, here is the specific list of what sits outside tuition: administrative or processing fees, payment plan service fees, and transcript or document request fees. These are not refundable. If one would apply to something you are about to request, ask for the amount in writing first.

What happens if I withdraw?

A published schedule runs from your course start date: 100% within week 1, 75% within week 2, 50% within week 3, and none from week 4. Requests must be in writing. Full policy.

General questions

Is ARHS right for adults who have not been in school for years?

That is the group the program was built for. Each core sequence starts from foundations — Pre-Algebra exists precisely because most returning adults have not looked at an equation in a long time and would rather not be thrown in at the deep end.

Can I get help planning my schedule?

Yes. An advisor can help you work out a realistic weekly rhythm around your job and your family. Being honest about how much time you actually have works better than optimism here.

How do I get started?

Either the five-question eligibility check if you want a credit estimate first, or the application form if you already know. Both lead to the same credit review.
